The contention between altruism in ‘Joker’ and self love ‘Sherry’ beats me. Both sound like opposites but apparently influence the big conversation today on Mental Health issues. Altruism gives you satisfaction, well, some of us. While Self love takes away the guilt of prioritizing yourself, when you need to, well all the time for the rest of us. I think we’re looking at a real ethical dilemma, I know; depends on who you’re talking to.
If putting other people first can be toxic, yet is heavily endorsed by religion, ethics and basic human decency, where do we draw the line? In all truth, there is no line. These variables are what determine our personality. Myers Briggs 16 personality test rates me as an INFJ and that’s probably why this is a dilemma; altruism is my first language.
You’ve probably not thought about it once in your life; DON’T. I want you to continue being true to yourself, this world doesn’t need another ‘Joker’, no pun intended. Maybe when I start dating I can be ‘Sherry Argov’s finest Bitch’ . Until then go about your life as you would and me mine, you’re no Jesus Christ and cheers to great mental health.
